Description

Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) includes all forms of communication (other than oral speech) that are used to express thoughts, needs, wants and ideas. Speech generating devices and related accessories are covered when NYS Medicaid's minimum coverage criteria have been met. This document provides information on the coverage guidelines for speech generating devices and related accessories.
